  • Oral surgery is the branch of maxillofacial surgery that deals with the surgery of the mouth.
    The maxillofacial surgeon is also a specialist in oral surgery.

    Oral surgeries are usually performed under local anesthesia as outpatient surgery and include a large number of procedures:
    • simple and complex dental extractions
    • impacted teeth removal 
    • removal of impacted III molars (wisdom teeth)

    Today oral surgery also uses important instrumentation aids such as microscopy, piezosurgery and laser.
